Minutes of meeting held on 11 May 2011 at Kincorth Community Centre

Members were welcomed and thanked for their attendance. Grahame proposed the co-option of Iris Murray. This was seconded by Catherine Cowie and agreed. However Ms Murray was not able to attend this meeting.

4 Minutes of Previous Meeting
Minutes of the March meeting the report form the April meeting and the minute of the April special meeting were agreed as correct records.

5 Business Arising
March
Item 7.4 Lynne Brown has had emails regarding the condition of the First buses but very little help with the complaint.
Item 7.8 The school crossing patrol was supposed to be in place by 5th May. This has not happened as yet.
Item 10.1 The City Council has agreed to the killing of the deer on Tullos Hill but have stated it will be done as humanely as possible. The Chair asked the Secretary to write indication our abhorrence at this decision.

10.5 Artic lorries continue to park on Anderson Drive while waiting access to ASDA. The question of who is responsible for enforcing the conditions of the planning approval was raised. Councillor Dean is to contact the appropriate department of the City Council

April Report
Item 6 The Secretary has contacted the Reporter to the Childrens Panel, but has not yet had a response to the invitation to speak at our meeting.

Item 4 The City Council will be asked about pro rata payment of our funding from May until December 2009.

Item 7.12 Due to the absence of a member of staff in the community centre it was not possible to access the KRAS accounts or constitution. Lynne Brown is to try to obtain a KRAS constitution in order that we may determine what arrangements are in place for the disbursement of their funds on dissolution.
There has been interest in our plans for improvement to a play area at Kincorth circle. Mr Ian Esslemont is to be asked to advise what is required for the play area.

6 Police Report
Pc Maguire handed a report to the Secretary after our meeting had ended. It showed there have been incidents including eleven motor vehicle, five public nuisance, six vandalism, four drug and two fire reports.

7 Correspondence
7.1 Aberdeen Local Licensing Forum
This body keeps under review the licences in the area and are asking for notification of any problems relating to alcohol use. Meetings are held four times a year. The next meeting is on 23 June in the town House. Councillor Dean said this is a major opportunity to be involved with the licensing Board and encouraged our council to send a delegate. Glyn Sangster agree to attend this meeting.
7.2 Aberdeen City Council
The double yellow lines to be provided at Cairngorm Road roundabout have not been painted. This was promised for the end of March but there ahs been no further progress.
7.3 Aberdeen City Council
The Secretary has received an email regarding the let of a room for our meetings. There is a new form now and this has been completed and returned. It is hoped that this will confirm our bookings for next year.
7.4 First Aberdeen
Intimation of changes to their timetables has been received.
7.5 Aberdeen City Council
Information regarding licences for the Gala were noted. This was agreed as irrelevant since there will not be a gala.
7.6 Heritage Scotland
A magazine has been received from this body.

8 Treasurer’s Report
The books have been returned from the City Council. They have asked for the address of the auditor. The Treasurer will provide this information.

There are no applications relevant to our area.

10.1 Councillor Dean asked that our City Councillors be given a copy of the contact details of our members
10.2 Lynne Brown is being contacted by the press. Graham Bennett was agreed as the contact person.
